Report of meeting on Thursday 13 May 2004 Over 80 people attended the meeting held in the Hungerford Corn Exchange to inaugurate the 2010+ Market Town planning initiative. Those who attended had the opportunity to browse some of the information that had been gathered about many of the aspects of the process and were able to look at some examples of completed plans from other areas. The overall plan, the timeline and objectives were discussed and 35 people have already signed up to be actively involved in the various activities that are planned. It was very encouraging that there was so much positive reponse the project and the Council members who will be involved look forward to working closely with the teams over the next 12 to 15 months. The meeting also heard from Paul James from WBDC who talked very encouragingly about the support that this local project can expect from many of the agencies active in the areas we hope to address. The next step will be to elect a Steering Group of 6 to 8 people who will then initiate the individual projects and guide the project teams through the Town HealthCheck process. If you perhaps missed the meeting but would like to hear more - or volunteer to help in any way - please make contact with the 2010+ Steering Group through the Town Clerk.
