Minutes of the Town Council meeting held on Monday 5th June 2006 in the Town Hall, Hungerford.
Finance & General Purposes Committee meeting commenced at 6.30pm.
Present: G. Bullock, E. Cardwell, M. Barletta, R. Hudson and J. Hutchings (Clerk). (Cllr Small delayed at work)
Cheques were signed by Cllrs Bullock and Cardwell. Cllr Barletta audited.

District Councillor’s Report
Cllr Gaines reported:
- that the new Library development will begin mid-August 2006. £5,000 has been set aside for an arts project
which will receive matched funding from the Southern Arts Council. The project is for one wall in the
Library to be decorated by local artist/artists.
- there is to be an open day at the Library on the 8th July 2006 for a public consultation on 3 layouts for the
new building.
- the new zebra crossing in Charnham Street will go ahead. Cllr Gaines is seeking funding for a second
crossing to be placed on the other side of the roundabout.
- Cllr Cardwell asked about signage for the alcohol-free zones as nothing had been heard from Rachel Craggs.
Cllr Gaines to enquire.

Apologies were received on behalf of M. Morgan, R. Ballard, R. Scorey. R. Desmeules was delayed at work.

Proposed: Cllr Cardwell, second: Cllr Liddiard. Agreed unanimously.
Minutes of Special Meetings: 3rd May 2006 and 2nd March 2006
06/041 Proposed: Cllr Liddiard, second: Cllr Cardwell. Agreed unanimously.
All minutes were signed by Cllr Bullock as a true and accurate record of the three meetings.
4) Finance
i) Accounts for Authorization
06/042 Proposed: Cllr Cardwell, second: Cllr Wilson, that the accounts in the sum of £4195.11
be authorized for payment. Agreed unanimously.
ii) Grant request from Neil Marney
Mr Marney has already purchased the piece of equipment for which he is seeking a grant.
06/043 Proposed: Cllr Liddiard, second: Cllr Wilson, that Neil Marney should receive a grant of
£250. Agreed unanimously.
iii) Cricket Club request for assistance with fees in respect of new lease.
Dealt with in agenda 5.
5) Cricket Club Lease
06/044 Proposed: Cllr Ticehurst, second: Cllr Thompson, that signing of the lease and discussion of the
legal fees be deferred until the July meeting. Vote: 9 in favour. Cllr Small took no part in the vote.

6) Hungerford and Camburn Educational Foundation
Mansil Morgan, Peter Benbow and the Clerk’s four year tenure as trustees ends at the beginning of
July. Cllrs Cardwell, Harries and Liddiard will replace them.
7) CCTV User Group
Cllrs Bullock and Thompson will represent the Council on this group.
