Minutes of the Environment and Planning meeting held at 7pm on Monday 21st May 2007

in the Town Hall, Hungerford

Proposed: Cllr Harries.  Seconded: Cllr Thompson.  Vote: All in favour.  The minutes were signed as a true and accurate record by Cllr Scorey.

 

4)            Affordable Housing

Proposed: Cllr Scorey ‘to suspend standing orders’.  Seconded: Thompson.  Vote: All in favour.  Standing orders were suspended to allow all parties to speak.  (Arlene Kersley of the CCB & Chris Scorey & Mark Martin of 2010+ Population & Housing Group)

 

Discussion took place about all sites the E & P Committee, Arlene and 2010+ Group had identified as potential Rural Exception Sites (RES).  Each site was assessed and if instantly recognisable as not applicable was ruled out.  The sites that were deemed applicable and requiring further investigation were: Shalbourne Close, Eddington Allotments, Land Adjacent to Ramsbury Drive, The Hermitage, Land to North of Cemetery, Marsh Lane – The Paddock and Thames Water Aquifer Site.

 

Arlene advised the Committee that she would visit each site and carry out a Site Appraisal.  Once she had done this she would contact West Berkshire Council to get their views on planning considerations.

 

Proposed: Cllr Thompson ‘to reinstate standing orders’.  Seconded: Cllr Wilson.  Vote: All in favour.  Standing orders were reinstated.
