Minutes of the Environment and Planning meeting held on 6th August 2007
Present: R. Scorey (Chairman), P. Harries, G. Bullock, W. Acworth, M. Wilson, D. Liddiard, R. Hudson
and R. Thompson.
1. Apologies for absence
Apologies were received on behalf of Cllr Wilson. Cllr Hudson apologised for his late arrival.
2. Declaration of interests
Cllr Bullock declared a personal interest in plan 07/01474/HOUSE 39 Sanden Close.
3. Minutes of 23rd July 2007
Proposed: Cllr Liddiard, second: Cllr Harries. Vote: 3 in favour, 1 abstention (due to non attendance at
that meeting).
As several members of the public were present to hear the discussion re plan 07/01474/HOUSE
it was proposed: Cllr Scorey, second: Cllr Harries that item 7 (iii) be brought forward on the agenda.
All in favour.
Proposed: Cllr Thompson, second: Cllr Liddiard, that standing orders be suspended to allow members of
the public to speak. All in favour.
Following brief comments by the public, it was Proposed: Cllr Scorey, second: Cllr Thompson that
standing orders be re-instated. All in favour.
07/01474/HOUSE 39 Sanden Close Hungerford
Single storey side/rear extension to provide additional living accommodation.
Demolition of double garage and utility room. Support
Proposed: Cllr Liddiard, second: Cllr Thompson. Vote: 4 support with 2 abstentions.
Having declared an interest Cllr Bullock did not join in the discussion or vote.
4. West Berkshire Freight Route Strategy
Consultation document was discussed. Cllr Hudson’s draft reply was considered and Cllr Hudson was
asked to respond as per his draft but with the amendments as discussed.
Proposed: Cllr Hudson, second: Cllr Thompson, that the above action is delegated to Cllr Hudson. All in
favour. RH

Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead: re provision of
caravan sites for Gypsies/Travellers Proposed Cllr Scorey, second: Cllr Harries that
the Clerk contact WBC re this subject
WBC re signage in Hungerford High Street. No action.
6. 6 Bridge Street – Shop/Dwelling
Proposed: Cllr Liddiard, second: Cllr Thompson, that the committee write to WBC to express its concern
at the rapidly deteriorating and dangerous state of the building. All in favour.
Cllrs Harries and Bullock to identify the name of the WBC officer who inspected and wrote a report regarding
the building. RH&GB
7. Planning Applications

Change of use from A1 to mixed A1/A3
Proposed: Cllr Bullock, second: Cllr Hudson, that the committee should consult the Chamber of Commerce.
All in favour. Decision held over until next meeting.
