Condition of the new

realigned, whilst HTC are not in favour of this

7. HEAT
The Steering Group is looking at
Food, Transport, Waste, Employment, Education & ??. They are using
existing skills and facilities to get the group off the ground, plan to
encourage people to live in an environmentally friendly way. There is a market
stall held on a regular basis. Have met with John O’Gaunt Technology College,
trying to make links between local businesses and the school. Transport – lots
of ideas. Need to consider environmentally friendly waste. Links have to be
made with WBC. Environmental issues have to be promoted to the public.
Practical solutions have to be found to global issues. Cllr Bullock suggested
that the Council looks at Blueberry, a project village, used for looking at
reducing the carbon footprint, Cllr Bullock to let Cllr Nesbitt has contact
telephone numbers.
Cllr Harries advised the group that there are government initiatives for loft
and roof insulation for the over 70’s, suggested that we advertise this on the
HEAT stall in the street to raise awareness., for under 70’s the cost is £200
for wall insulation and £200 for roof insulation. There is also a website
advertising an installation company that will give a presentation, this is
government funded. For older buildings the Society of Preservation of Ancient
Buildings may be able to assist with work/funding.
8. Affordable Housing
Testway are the chosen company for
Affordable Housing. Arlene Kersley had advised Cllr Thompson that she had
written to the companies that presented advising them of the outcome and
thanking them for their time. It was agreed that Cllr Thompson would also
write to the companies on behalf of HTC.
The allotments by the Catholic Church may have housing built on them in the future,
allotment holders have been given notice to quit. Cllr Thompson and Cllr
Harries are visiting the Land Registry this week to see where there is land
that may be used for allotments in the future, this land could be leased or
purchased.
