Hungerford est une petite ville historique située au milieu d’un site naturel dans le Berkshire occidental, qui avoisine le Wiltshire (a l’ouest), l’Hampshire (au sud) et l’Oxfordshire (au nord).

Le centre-ville se trouve à quatre miles au sud de l’autoroute M4 (sortie 14) et à huit miles à l’ouest de Newbury et l’A34 (qui unie Birmingham et Southampton), ce qui donne d’excellentes liaisons routieres à tout le pays. Vu sa proximité à l’autoroute M4 (à seulement cinq minutes) et ses hostelleries accueillantes, Hungerford est l’endroit idéal pour faire une étape y trouver le repos pendant le long voyage de Londres à Bristol. La ville jouie aussi de trains fréquents pour Londres Paddington.

Hungerford est une ville animée où il y a un marché tous les mercredis en centre-ville. Elle est connue pour ses nombreux magasins d’antiquités qui attirent beaucoup de visiteurs.

Des petits magasins améliorent l’esprit de marché de la ville y offrent au visiteur et au résident un grand choix de produits et de services. En trouvant quelques uns de ces magasins, le visiteur découvre les coins les plus charmants – et cachés – de Hungerford. La ville apprécie une grande variété de cafés et restaurants qui offrent le café au lait, le casse-cro û te à midi, ou le repas élégant de trois plats. Certains se trouvent au centre-ville, d’autres dans les villages et hameaux des environs pittoresques.

La ville est entourée de terrain communal. À cinq minutes du centre-ville, peut-on apprécier une promenade detendue et une abondance de flore et de faune.
